Cops, crimes, and baptisms

Hello all! Don't worry the subject of this email will be explained fully. (: and we didn't commit any crimes I'll just get that outta the way rn. 😜 this week has been absolutely amazing! I can't wait for you all to hear everything about it! 😁 also I have mad loads of pictures. Hope you enjoy them.

A crazy cathedral in Chester.

Monday was super fun! Tom, a member of our ward, drove us to Chester in his tiny little car. We hung out with him and did some shopping then he had to leave. We met up with a bunch of other missionaries. It was super fun we had a great time. (:

Tom's tiny car. (:
Tuesday we had a street display which is always good. Afterward I went to Colwyn Bay for exchange with Elder Chilpagiri. Trainees ruling the area! It was a blast, we got a couple new investigators for his area and saw a less active family. The mom was crazy drunk. She really wanted me to meet her son because she thought the gospel would be good for him and he's really into parkour and flips and stuff. She was really sad to learn that I'm not actually in that area. Hopefully I can meet him on exchange there again. Elder Chilpagiri is the man. He's hilarious and we had a great time.

Exchanges. (:

Wednesday we exchanged back. I honestly don't remember what else we did that day. Here is where crimes comes in: somebody got murdered in Rhyl either Tuesday night or Wednesday night. At 7 o'clock. We stay out till 9 every night. That's pretty mad. Rhyl can be a sketchy place. But we try to stay away from dodgy areas at night.

Traveling through the darkness to Sian's house one time. (:

Thursday was weekly pizza day and my three month mark! Score! 😁 Me and elder Korth had tea with David and Debbie. They are super great, it was really fun. They joined us for a lesson with Tina. We taught tithing and it went really well. She was very willing to live it. (: She is amazing, seriously so good. Very excited for her baptism.
Friday we had a street display which went really good as well. I enjoy street displays. A really good way to talk to loads of people in a small amount of time. We went to Sian's that night for her pre-baptism feast. She cooked loads and loads of Chinese food and it was all the best things I have ever eaten in the entirety of my entire life. My mouth is watering rn just thinking about it. Sian is the best, we always feel so so welcome in her home. Rob is the bomb too, they are just really great people.

Sian's house. Her dog Keke is my favorite thing on the planet.

Saturday we went to the chapel and started filling the font for Sian's baptism. We made the program as well. It took us ages. Me and elder Korth aren't very good at that type of thing. When Sian arrived for her baptism she was smiling ear to ear. She was bouncing up and down and was just so excited. Her excitement was infectious for all there. (: I changed into my white clothes and when I came out she said "wow! You look really cool! Like Elvis or something!" Haha she is hilarious. After the baptism talk when the time came for her baptism she basically ran to the font. I was a bit nervous to be preforming the baptism just hoping I would do it right and everything. But when I began it was just like somebody took over. It was as if Jesus Christ himself was there baptising her. It was such an amazing and humbling experience to be the representative of Jesus Christ for Sian's baptism. When she came out of the water she just had the biggest smile on her face. She thanked me and was just so excited and happy. Walking out of the font she said can we just go back and do that again? She is amazing.

Sian's baptism.

It has truly been such an amazing experience watching her journey coming into Christ. I really have felt humbled and so lucky to have been able to teach her and feel of her spirit. This was one of the greatest moments in my life thus far. (:  After her baptism Tina had her baptismal interview. She passed no problem. She will be baptised this Thursday!! 😁 so excited, the ward had a little get together medieval party afterwards. We stayed for a bit and played some football and tug of war and stuff. It was a really good time. Sunday we had Sian's confirmation in church! It was so great. She was smiling so brightly yet again. It has been such a pleasure teaching her. (: the rest of church was great.

Elders Cepeda and Raven came to our flat for lunch. We had an entire loaf of bread that expired the next day. Elder Cepeda was getting himself a drink and I hurled a piece of bread right at his face. A full out bread war ensued. I'm pretty sure I got a hernia from laughing so hard. That night me and Elder Korth were tracting. It was about 7 but dark already. The cops pulled up. Haha somebody called the cops on us. He was super nice though and just said it's probably not a good idea to be knocking when it's dark. So that was a good time. (:

Elder Raven. No explanation needed.

That night we were doing our training extra hour of study and Elder Korth had the phone. He checked a text and kinda started flipping out. I was like what is going on. He tossed me the phone and this is what the text from Sian said, "I have the most amazing news. Rob wants to be baptised!!!!!" We were just blown away and so so excited. Rob never showed much interest during the lessons but he must have really felt the spirit at her baptism. When Sian was texting us Rob was on the phone with his dad to give him all his alcohol. He had already thrown away all his tea and coffee. We could hardly believe it. He wants to be baptized as soon as possible so we are thinking a week from this Saturday.

Elder Korth, Rob, Sian, Elder Edwards

It has been absolutely amazing seeing these miracles this weekend. I feel so lucky and blessed to be here. I love this work. I love this church. I know it's true. I haven't been here long but I have already seen lives changed and it is absolutely incredible. I know that there is no greater thing on this planet than the church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. I feel so humbled to have been a witness of these miracles. I hope you all have an amazing week! Love you all!

Sleepover and some other stuff

Right before our sleepover. (:

Hello everyone! We have had a super solid week! On Monday we just hung out with elders Cepeda and Raven. Did some shopping and stuff. I bought a big marshmallow style coat. I like it. You'll see a picture. (: Elders Cowdrey and Thorpe came over for a sleepover! They live ages away and we had a multi zone meeting in Crewe on Tuesday. So they came so they wouldn't have to travel for like 4 hours. It was a blast. They are both great. Elder Cowdrey is hilarious. We had a really good time. Thorpe is from Layton Utah and Cowdrey is from somewhere in Australia.

Action figure or something in the new coat. (:

Tuesday we had the multi zone meeting. It was great, super fun to see everybody. Those meetings always take up our whole day because we travel for ages. Always good to hear from President and Sister Ulrich, they are so great.

Wednesday we went to Colwyn Cay for Sian's baptismal interview! She came out and she was just smiling from ear to ear! She was so happy and excited! It was so good to see her so happy and excited for her baptism. The rest of the day we did some tracting and other stuff. Honestly I don't really remember what we did. We did have dinner with the Yenson family which was super solid. They fed us the tastiest burgers I've ever had. It was mad good.

Thursday was weekly pizza day! And planning or something like that. We did service that afternoon some gardening for sister Williams. It’s always nice to do service while on the mish. Nice to get out of the usual clothes. 😜 We tried by Karen and Jamie that night. I talked about them ages ago, but they weren't willing to make any appointments or anything. So we took a break for a bit. She has made loads of progress since we last saw her! We will be seeing her and Jamie this Thursday which should be solid. (:

More pics from Llandudno

Friday we went to a nearby town, Denbigh, with the other Rhyl elders. We tracted and me and elder Cepeda went on splits for a bit. It was super fun! He is great and we had a blast. Nobody was very interested but it was good to switch it up for a bit. We had fish n chips that night. Mmmmm. (: we had a super great lesson with Tina that night! She committed to stop drinking tea. Her baptism is going to be November 5th. We are super excited. (: she is so great.

Saturday we had a street display. I was not feeling it at all. I didn't feel like doing it and just had a bad attitude about it. But I’ve learned a lot from my pops about digging in and working hard. So I just dug in. It ended up being one of our most productive days in a while in terms of meeting people, we have 3 new investigators and taught loads of lessons just from that afternoon. Grateful to my dad for teaching me that sometimes we just don't feel like doing anything, but to just get going. Great lesson for the mission and for life. Thanks dad. 😉
Elder Shilpagiri my man (:

Sunday was stake conference. Sian needed to come to be able to be baptized. She had mixed up the dates of when she was going to Blackpool and she went on Sunday. She thought she was going Saturday but it was actually Sunday so she couldn't come. She was devastated when we talked to her on the phone. President was there because we were all having interviews and I talked to him about it. He wants her to still be baptized this Saturday. We will be seeing her tonight. Everyone keep her in your prayers please, the adversary is hard at work. So I will let you all know next week if she is baptized or will have a later baptismal date. She is so great and definitely wants to be baptized.

I'd like to tell you all I'm grateful to Jeremy Jones for being a Mormon. I miss watching ski videos but he has an I'm a Mormon video. So I get to watch that and it has some solid snowboarding in it. Haha nice little tender mercy from the lord. 😉 I hope you all have an amazing week! I love you all!!

More flip pics. Haha I hope you're all not bored of!

Sleepovers, Tender mercies, President Nelson, Jehovah's Witnesses and Mcdonalds

Hello everyone! We had a KILLER week! Hope everything is going well with all of you.

Monday we went to Llandudno! It is so pretty there! We hiked up a little mountain/hill and the views up there were insane in every direction. We had a blast. We went with Elders Cossa, Chilpagiri, Raven, Cepeda, Korth and myself. It was so much fun. Elder Cossa can do flips! I've got lots of pictures of me doing flips. tee hee. So that was a real good time. (: I have loads of pictures haha. We also got fish n chips.
Boy do i love fish n chips.  It makes me so happy. (:

Elder Cossa killin it. (:
Don't mind the face. (:
We had an AMAZING lesson with Tina! It was sooo good! She is going to be baptized on November 5th. She will seriously be so great and make such an amazing addition to the ward. We are super excited for her. (: Friday night we took a three hour train to Chorley. We had a meeting in Chorley Saturday morning and needed to be seated at 8:30 so we had to stay the night with the zone leaders there so we wouldn't have to travel ages 3 hours on a train in the morning. It was a blast. There was another set of elders staying there too so 6 elder sleepover. 1 bathroom. Haha it was super fun. (:

Llandudno

Saturday
morning President Russell M. Nelson came and spoke to our mission!!! It was amazing! Him and his wife are soooo great. We all got to shake their hands as well so it was mad solid. I got so much great insight. I loved a part where they talked about how we can really be looking for what part god plays in our lives. When we are looking we can really notice that god is always there looking out for us.
The meeting was amazing. Afterwards I got my ipad! Solid. (: We went to mcdonalds and there was loads of missionaries there. A teacher from the MTC paid for every single missionaries food! It was so nice of her!! Wow it was so stinking nice. We traveled for a good portion of the day then visited a less active man and his family. They are super fun.

On Sunday
President Nelson came and spoke to the chester stake! We got the double whammy of president nelson haha. (: It was so good. Major mad good. We got some solid tracting that afternoon with nobody interested for a while. We came to one house and basically as soon as the door was opened we were invited in. That never happens! They were so nice and they gave us drinks. The man and his wife used to be Jehovah's Witnesses but don't agree with it anymore. He has loads of things that are tough to believe but he was very happy to take a Book of Mormon and read it. (: Hopefully we can meet with them again soon they were so nice. We had tea with Graham and Chez that night. Their family is the best. (:

Oh yeah! Thursday morning during weekly planning Jehovah's witnesses knocked on our door! We looked out the window to see who it was haha cause nobody ever knocks on our door. I was like no way! I was trying to button up my shirt and get a badge on because it would've been hilarious to answer the door and see what they would do. But I didn't get there in time. They left. Most disappointing thing of my life. haha. (:

I hope you all have an amazing week! Love you all!

Wales or something

A chocolate bar Craig and Jo gave us ages ago when my hair used to be curly. (:

Hello everyone! It has been a solid week! Crazy that it is already October 10th it is going fast! Pday last week was good, we just did our usual P day things like email and shopping. Me and Elder Korth went down to the beach and just hung out for a bit. It was nice to do some chillin. I found a nice wall with some sand beneath it so I was really getting into the flips again. It was the best of times. (: Hardly ever do flips anymore. /: Having been like 2 months without doing flips off anything really then jumpin off this wall for like an hour I was pretty sore the next couple of days. (: That night we had tea at the McAllisters cottage again. They are the best, she always gives us the best food. (: Good food is much appreciated.

Tuesday we had district meeting. It's so weird our district is monster huge now. But it was good, we played some massive games of around the world ping pong. (: I stayed in Colwyn Bay for exchanges with the new district leader Elder Cossa. It was super fun he is great. He is from Zimbabwe and is in the same group as Elder Korth so has been on his mission for 14-ish months. We did a lot of finding that afternoon/evening and found a couple potential investigators so that was good. We ate tea at a member there named Glynis. The food was mad good. (:

Wednesday was also good. Street contacting we met this man (forgot his name tee hee) who was super interested and has snowboarded in japan! He said hes been travelling a lot lately and had been to japan so I was like ahh I want to ski there someday and he was snowboarding there. Lame when you find somebody super solid but they aren't in your area. No worries though. (: We exchanged back that afternoon and had fish and chips from the chippy that's like 2 minutes away from our flat. It is the most amazingly delectable (not sure if that's a word for food) tasty pure goodness. Best fish n chips I've had yet. I love fish n chips. I'm going to stop talking about it now I'm making myself hungry. (: Then tracting that afternoon we witnessed some solid Rhyl relationship drama. This man and woman were screaming at each other in the street and she was trying to leave but he kept following her and she kept hitting him and screaming and such. For the world to see. It was quite the show. Good ole Rhyl. (:

Thursday we tracted a lot with 0 people interested. No worries that's just how it goes. (: That night we had another lesson with Tina and taught the plan of salvation. It went super good she is so great. Then brother Lowe picked us up to head to Mostyn for a lesson with Sian. It was tithing which I hadn't taught yet and was slightly nervous, but it went so well! She's amazing! Looking forward to the 29th. (: Oh yeah Chilpagiri and Korth saw Craig during exchanges and he is dated for November 5th. (:

Friday was another day of lots of tracting and went pretty much the same for like 3 hours until the last door we knocked we got a solid new investigator. Oh man I'm terrible I forgot her name. It may have been Lillian. But she's great and we will be seeing her on Wednesday. We had tea at Graham and Chez's that night and had curry. It was mad spicy. Me and Elder korth just about died. (:

Saturday we had a street display in Rhyl with Elders Cepeda and Ravn. It was really good we got a couple new investigators who we will be seeing this week so hopefully that will go well. Haha Elder Cepeda was so distraught by how like nobody stops and will talk to you until he finally stopped a lady, but then saw a beard and realized it was a man dressed up as a lady. Yeah. The person talked to him for like a half hour. Poor elder Cepeda. (: But the man was nice enough. Me and Elder Korth tracted that afternoon in Prestatyn and found a solid new investigator Andrew. Excited to see him again and see how its going. (:

Sunday was really good, we went to the monthly missionary fireside. The McAllisters took us. Sian was going to come but something came up last minute. Lame. /: But the fireside was really good one recent convert said he wants to be the prophet someday. (:

Hope everyone is doing well and has a great week! Love you all!

Ummmm... Rhyl is real. Round 2

Hello everybody! This week has been a bajillion percent amazing! 1 week in to the new transfer and it has been full of miracles. (:

Abergale Castle

Tuesday we went to Abergale Castle and the woods like I talked about last week. Then that night me and Elder Korth traveled to Colwyn Bay to pick up the new elders coming to Rhyl. They are Elder Ravn from Denmark and Elder Cepeda from Ireland. Elder Ravn is training Elder Cepeda, they are great, really enthusiastic about the work. We helped them get to their flat in Rhyl. Holy nice. It's so stinking nice way nicer than our flat. Just a little idea of how nice their flat is, they have 2 bathrooms and they each have heated towel racks. Getting a wee bit pampered in that flat they are. (: Pretty messed up eh? Just kidding there's no worries. I like our flat so it's all good. (:

Wednesday we did some tracting without any real luck, nobody was interested that day. Ron Williams from the ward took us to "the bells of Saint Mary" a carvery. It was so good. Second time there. (: That night we visited a less active family that we had met the mom on the train a couple weeks back. They are amazing! So nice and super great. They are going to have us for tea sometime soon. (:

Thursday we had lunch at Sister Calcott's then did some service for her. We got to trim hedges which I always enjoy so it was a good time. (: We did some tracting with nobody really interested that afternoon then helped some members move that night with the new elders in Rhyl. Then we went to Mcdonalds afterward. Gotta love Mcdonalds. (: Brother Lowe picked me and Elder Korth up because we had a lesson with Sian that night. We taught the gospel of Jesus Christ. It was so good and was really led by the spirit. I extended the baptismal invitation after talking about baptism and she paused for a bit then said YES! We were so excited. We are so excited. (: The date is October 29th so we will keep working with her till then. Its so great to have Brother Lowe at lessons he is so so good.

Elder Korth and Elder Edwards

Friday we met with Tina who referred herself online. We couldn't find any male fellowshippers so we brought along Sister Lowe and Cassie Davies from the ward. We taught the restoration and the lesson went so good! They all got along so great which really helped too. Near the end the spirit said we definitely need to invite her to baptism, so I did. She wants to be baptized! So great! (: We will set a date at our next lesson. then we met with Craig and Jo the ones who got married a bit over a month ago. Craig has been taught for 9 years. The last time we met with them he said he was in no rush to be baptized but wanted to. This time there, Jo joked saying they should make the missionaries wait another year. Then they said he wanted to be baptized before me and Elder Korth leave! So we are working towards a date this transfer. It was crazy we are really excited. He is working on word of wisdom but plans to be completely done by this weekend. We will set a date soon. We are so excited! We were planning on teaching Sian the word of wisdom Friday night and she was also going to feed us. Which is always super great, she is a super good cook. We got a text from her saying she hadn't smoked a single cigarette or had a single coffee that day! Shes amazing! We still taught the word of wisdom haha. (: What a bunch of miracles that happened Thursday and Friday. We are very grateful. (:

Saturday we watched the Saturday morning session of conference live! It was 5 o clock to 7 that night. It was so fun watching and thinking some people back home are watching this very same thing at the very same time. (: Colwyn bay elders came to Rhyl because their branch wasn't broadcasting it.

"A picture of your son for you to enjoy conference weekend. He is enjoying a British roast dinner..."
This picture was emailed to us from the Pratt family who fed Dallen on Sunday.

Sunday was conference again which was so good! Sunday morning we watched priesthood, then from 1-3 we watched the Saturday afternoon session. Sian and Tina were both there! It was the perfect session to have them there for. I love the song Joseph Smiths First Prayer and so to have a missionary choir start off the meeting singing it so beautifully was incredible! The spirit was so strong! And the rest of the meeting was so good too. Ah it was so great. (: Me and elder Korth had tea with the Pratt family which was super good. Then it was back to the chapel to watch the Sunday morning session live. Yet again So fun thinking everybody back home was watching it at the same time. I never realized how amazing conference is until this weekend. Being a missionary really helped me realize what a blessing conference is. A quick thought, loved Kazuhiko Yamashito's talk! Be ambitious for Christ! What a great way to put that. This week reading Jesus the Christ during personal study, I read about the day after the miracle of bread and fish how Jesus was teaching and so many people who had witnessed the miracle turned away from Jesus. Jesus then asked his apostles "Wilt thou also turn away". I love what Paul said "Lord, to whom shall we go? Thou hast the words of eternal life." That is so good. It is so simple too, where would we go? Jesus Christ can give us eternal life.

I hope you all have a great week this week! Be ambitious in Christ! Love you all!

Love, Elder Edwards
