You best get outta here before you get killed

Peacing out of Colwyn with some snow.

Hey! As for my subject line, first time on my mission that someone threatened to kill me! Our investigator Shelley’s parter Andy wanted us to come and check out his church’s soup kitchen thingy on Friday night. We knew it wasn’t going to go super well when we got there and he asked us if we could take our badges off. We said we couldn’t haha. We went up and could just feel the tension of everyone there though. Then a dude told me I best get outta there before I got killed. So. We stuck around for a couple minutes, then bounced. It wasn’t a good place to be. Andy later told us that last week there had been a big fight during their musical service.  Haha, pretty dope though, fun to meet some sketch people.

Saying bye to my boys Paul and Tom.

But as for Shelley! We met her my first day here, and taught her the restoration on Wednesday! And it was super good! She loved it. (: she wants to come to church because she’s been looking for a church, but she has social anxiety so it’s going to be a bit tough for her to come. She’s great. (:

New comp playin some clarinet.

Also! There is a wonderful lady named Mikaela that we met with on Saturday. She is the funniest haha, she’s like our Scottish grandma. She’s hilarious. But she had her baptismal interview yesterday and is going to get baptised in two weeks! Apparently it’s been a long road for her, she’s been seeing missionaries since July or so, and has had a lot of struggles, but she’s ready now! She’s super excited, she even has the temple as the background on her phone. She’s more excited to go to the temple then she is for her baptism lol. She’s amazing. She had had a rough week so we were able to help her out when we saw her on Saturday. She’s actually taking us bowling this afternoon so that’ll be pretty dope haha. (:

Yeah! Blackpool is pretty great! Crazy place though. Well dodgy. My comp is pretty cool, he’s a good lad from the Ukraine. Funny kid. So there’s a bit of an update, hope your all doing well! Love you all! (:

Blk pewl

Peace.

Ey! It’s been a pretty solid week. This emails gonna be a hecka quick update btw. We had some really solid lessons with Alex this week. Retaught him the restoration and gospel of Jesus Christ and it went well good. The reason we couldn’t really meet with him for a couple weeks there was cause he was literally Skyping his mate in America all day every day. Kinda weird. Literally every time we went over, he was Skyping. Luckily though they don’t really Skype anymore so we started teaching him again.

Happy brolly tool pic.

We had a hecka nice tea appointment with Emma and Steven and had a great chat about the gospel and Book of Mormon and all that good stuff. It was really nice and the spirit was nice and strong. (: also they fed us the most delectable fish pie thingy that has ever graced my mouth. So good.

Not again!

Had a solid exchange this week with my boy Elder barney. It was solid. Really enjoyed it. Ate a lot of ice cream. Actually the whole week I ate a lot of ice cream. I’ve morphed into an ice cream split thing. It’s pretty bad.

Last district pic.

Not really a lot else, we walked into Alex’s house one night and Alex’s mom Kate was like, “wow your sick” and I was like “what, why do you say that” she said “just look at your face”. Haha thanks for that Kate. Np. Then her daughter told me I looked stoned. I promise I wasn’t. Needless to say I snagged a pic of my messed up face so I’ll sauce it in the email.

My face. I guess I did look out of it.😂

Well. Transfer calls came. I’m bouncing outta here. When I first got the call, I was a little sad, love the people here, but now I’m getting pretty excited. It’ll be nice to get a change. I’m going to Blackpool. Basically it’s an updated version of Rhyl, on the coast, and Rhyl has been described as the armpit of north wales so it should be good. My new comp is named trunky mango. (Troheymenko) don’t think I spelled that right. Don’t really know him, but he seems like a well funny lad. Well that’s me! Love you all! Have a solid week. (:

1-29-2018

(Laurel here. I didn't realize I hadn't posted last week until I went to post this weeks' letter. This was written January 29, 2018)

Bore da! Well this week has been pretty uneventful... I literally got nothin to share with yall... I’ll see if I can manage to think of something haha

Well the week started off with district meeting, which president and sister McReynolds came to cause they were doing our districts interviews after. So that was a good time, I gave a training and I thought it went aight, so yep.

Oh my days this email is going to be so flippin boring, haha well we went finding like mad this week, but didn’t manage to find anyone, ya boy Ryan with the baby rescheduled for this week so hopefully we’ll see him then.

Co-op had a gnarly sale on ice cream.
Didn't have a spoon so I improvised.

We saw Alex a couple times and had some good times playing ping pong and such, we gave him a blessing cause he wanted to try one out, and I think he felt the spirit which is good. (: he’s a g.
We met a funny dude named Fred, he was like 90 and was really passionate about Jesus Christ and all that good stuff, he told us a bunch of stories and every time he finished a story he’d pump his fist and shout “hallelujah!” Or “let’s get excited!” Haha he was the man, made our evening more enjoyable. He pronounced a solid blessing on our heads which was pretty dank.

Reincarnation of the Fro.

The branch here is the best, they have us over for food every day, I’ve kind of built up this reputation in the branch as the elder who eats hecka amounts. There’s this one lady who always feeds me like two meals and like 3 desserts haha. My comp only gets the one meal and dessert which is kinda weird but I’m not complaining. He don’t mind either cause he can hardly manage to finish anyway. She also said her shopping bill is gonna cut in half when I get transferred. Haha. So yeah. Good food.

Burned some trousers for 18 months on the mish! Heck yes. That was a good time, then I ate some cake.

I was reminded this week of how aware God is of each of us. He loves us more than we can know, and his hand is in the little details of our lives. It was nice to be reminded of that, and to remember that he’s up there watching out for me. Well sorry about the lame email but I love you all and hope yall have a killer week! (:
